Because psychology affects so many aspects of our lives it is important, even for those who do not intend to specialize in the field, to know something about its basic facts and research methods.  Psychology courses at St. Clair County Community College have been developed to facilitate a firm foundation in psychology, and help the student apply psychological principles to their lives and careers.

The Psychology (PSY) discipline is the largest discipline in the Social Science Department in terms of number of full-time faculty, number of courses offered, and students served.  The PSY discipline is composed of both full-time and adjunct faculty.

Psychology courses are offered both day and evening and off-campus.  The discipline is currently working on developing PSY 180 (introductory psychology) as an on-line option.
